Make Your Own Marbled Designs

How Water Marbling Works

Fill the plastic tray or another container with room-temperature water. Add drops of different paint colors, then move a stick through them to form lines, circular shapes, or other patterns.

Slowly lower your paper or chosen object onto the water to pick up the design. A gentle motion helps keep air bubbles from disturbing the pattern.

Carefully lift out the decorated piece and let it dry. Depending on the material, an additional setting step, such as baking or ironing, may be needed after drying to help the paint adhere.
